Here are a range of activities and resources for incorporating alphabet learning into your day.
Puppy’s Quest: A Fun, Rhyming ABC Adventure - This is a fun kindle book that will appeal to many. Some of the rhymes are a bit iffy, but most kids will be attracted to the cute characters. (Kindle book $)
Make Your Own Milkcap Letters – This is a good idea for the super crafty mommas. It’s not difficult, but making these letters will be a little time consuming on your end.
Textured Alphabet Craft- This is another activity that requires some prep work and guidance, but once you get all of the supplies together- your kids will have a blast. Try this one out, even if you aren’t super crafty.
Letter A Dot Printable – This is a nice, simple activity for quiet time.
Make Your Own Alphabet Book- We love to make our own books in this house. If you don’t have a laminator, you might consider investing in one. You will use it again and again.
Alphabet Mail Game – This just looks like a bunch of fun. Prepare to roll up your sleeves to get everything organized, and then watch as your kids learn and have fun.
Leapfrog Letter Factory- I cannot recommend this video enough. This is my “secret weapon” in my alphabet learning kit. Letting your kids watch this really cuts down on the time it takes for kids to recognize each letter and the sound it makes. (Dvd $)
